Cry Babi - "Tangerine"

We’re excited to premiere “Tangerine,” the new single from Brooklyn’s Cry Babi. The dramatic and slow-burning track bottles up a ton of old western vibes with dusty and deliberate guitars that gradually unravel and a creeping rhythm that steadily builds an almost overwhelming level of tension. It eventually boils over with an explosive guitar solo that serves as the song’s epic climax, before winding down again for a smooth ending. 

The music video matches the song’s outlaw country feel, as in a spaghetti western style, the band tells a stirring tale of lost love. Directed by Antonin Lelievre, the video initially follows a female protagonist, as she wanders the streets of Chicago, before shifting to her male cowboy counterpart. Things then hitch on to the lyrics, as the scene shifts to the shores of Lake Michigan where the two meet for a duel mirroring the line “take me to the beach get high, let’s go get it.”
