The Tisburys - "Tear Us Apart" (XIXIX Remix)
We’re excited to premiere the XIXIX remix of “Tear Us Apart” by The Tisburys. The band shared the original version back in July, and sonically, it represented a bit of a departure from their more Tweedy-esque indie Americana. With a danceable rhythm and toe tapping beat, “Tear Us Apart” showcased the Philadelphia quintet’s ability to open up and diversify their sound, drawing influence from musical powerhouses of the mid to late aughts like LCD Soundsystem and Vampire Weekend.
The remix that the band is sharing today comes courtesy of fellow Philadelphiean singer-songwriter and producer Will Brown, who performs as XIXIX. Brown’s version chops the tracks up a bit and reassembles it in a manner that really accentuates the song’s driving rhythm. Sonically, it definitely has more of a disco vibe, and arrives just in time to lace up your dancing shoes for the weekend ahead.
